Rebecca Kleinmann is an internationally acclaimed flutist and singer with a performing and recording career marked by diversity and improvisation. Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina with equal footing in classical youth orchestra and playing by ear in a gospel church, she went on to earn the first Jazz Studies Flute degree from the prestigious Indiana University School of Music. Through Jazz she discovered Brazilian music which has become her main musical love over the last twenty years.
Rebecca is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area where she performs with her Quartet, Dona Francisca Forró band, Brasiliense with guitarist Ian Faquini, Choro groups and various projects in Jazz, Flamenco and Classical music. She recently released her latest self-produced album “Intuição Verdadeira” (True Intuiton) featuring original music by her Brazilian composer friends including three pieces written for her by the legendary artist Hermeto Pascoal.
